New Market for Potato

Potato is one of the most grown vegetables in Bangladesh. During the harvest time it's price go too below of production cost. No government took proper action to find its market around the world. However in recent year Bangladesh has found a potato importer. Yes Russia is the place to export potato from Bangladesh.


Every year 8.2 million ton potato are grown. 6 to 6.5 ton has its local consumption and 1 ton is uses as seed so every year 1-1.5 million ton is possible to export in abroad.

Bangladesh soil is very appropriate to cultivate potato. So, a huge number of potatoes are grown without using any special care or fertilizer. The quality of potatoes is also good comparing with other countries. Potato production is also good for another crops. So, if Bangladesh can find new market for potatoes it will bring good news for Bangladeshi farmers.
